Weiss Technik will be presenting the new control system for its environmental simulation systems this year. "S!MPAC 2.0" has been developed from scratch, has a modular structure and, unlike the previous version, runs on a Linux environment. This is accompanied by an update of the S!MPATI software required for control and management.
Weiss Technik is thus adapting its hardware to digital change and the ever-increasing speed. By switching to Linux, the new S!MPAC 2.0 machine controller offers a future-proof development environment with seven times the computing power. Thanks to the modern architecture of encapsulated applications, new applications can be implemented in a system-uncritical manner. For Industry 4.0 applications, S!MPAC 2.0 can be coupled to the industry standard OPC-UA with an optional extension via the S!MPATI 4.80 software. With the support of Weiss Software Consulting, customers can implement individual Docker applications on S!MPAC 2.0 that run directly on the controller.
Three new safety systems
The ring memory integrated in the new control unit offers greater security, allowing system-relevant data to be accessed retroactively for 14 days in the event of servicing. Another new feature is an internal capacitor that can bridge current fluctuations of up to 10 seconds in the control components. For the first time, the new controller comes with an on-board network time protocol for connection to an NTP support, for the millisecond-precise system time during the test application.
Software update to S!MPATI 4.80.2 with proven modules
The S!MPATI software has also been revised for the new control system. Weiss Technik has incorporated tried-and-tested modules into the S!MPATI 4.80.2 version. This includes the update wizard for secure installation. The wizard checks whether all settings from older installations can be transferred to the new version. In addition, users can continue to install several S!MPATI versions in parallel and access an older version if required.
More flexible evaluation options under S!MPATI 4.80.2
In the newly designed evaluation in SimViewer, the results of several test drives can now be superimposed and compared. The workbook mode also offers the option of evaluating several daily archives together for the first time. This saves a lot of time and has the advantage that backups are saved on a daily basis, but can still be combined for an evaluation.
Attractive conditions and extended free trial version
The software update to S!MPATI 4.80.2 is free of charge for all software customers of the last two years (S!MPATI 4.80). Weiss Technik offers all customers with software version 4.70 a discount of 40 percent. As a trial version, S!MPATI 4.80.2 can be used without restriction for six months so that new prospective customers can familiarize themselves thoroughly with it before purchasing. The increase in the test version from five to 99 usable test systems during the test phase also helps with this. Dates for software training on the new S!MPATI versions can be booked via the weisstechnik Academy.
